Hi!  Welcome to the SASCU Downtown Activity Center Childcare and Preschool Programs! 

 We are a licensed facility which means that we have been approved and are monitored by the Ministry of Health through their licensing officer to ensure we meet the standards of safety for the care of children.

We Currently Offer four Programs:

Preschool Programs: Our preschool programs are offered for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years. 

   The 2 ½  to 3 year old  program

             -runs Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. This program is a wonderful opportunity for children to socialize and explore with new friends in a learning through play atmosphere.  To register in this program, your child must be able to use the bathroom independently.

       The 4 year old program runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am - 11:30 am.  This program is designed to have children become familiar with kindergarten readiness in a learning through play atmosphere.

    Our goal is to provide a safe learning and growing environment for all children and to have fun.  We are an inclusion program, and work in partnership with the Shuswap Children's Association.  On School District Professional Development Days, Winter and Spring Breaks, as well as statutory holidays the Preschool Programs are closed.  A monthly newsletter will go out to the parents to remind of these closures.

KinderCare Program: Our KinderCare program is for children ages 5 and up who are attending a kindergarten program in the area. The program runs Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.   We meet children at the bus stop for Bastion, Hillcrest, South Broadview and Salmon Arm West.   Bus scheduling is the responsibility of the parent, please inform childcare staff as to your child's bus schedule.  On Pro D days we are open 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. We close Kinderccare on statutory holidays. We do lots of fun crafts and activities (indoor and outdoor), as well as the occasional field trip by city bus.  A monthly newsletter is provided to the parents for upcoming events.

Out of School Care Program: Our out of school program is for anyone ages 5-12 years old. We do lots of fun activities, crafts and we also do some field trips. The out of school program runs Monday to Friday after school till 6:00pm. On pro D days we’ll be open at 8:00 am and close at 5:30 pm
