What is Talon?
Talon is a program designed to work with and for young people, assisting them to achieve employment success. Talon collaborates with participants to create individually tailored plans. Through one-on-one support, group workshops and direct work experience, Talon supports young people in developing the skills and understanding needed to move towards interdependence.
Who is Talon for?
In order to participate in this program, participants must be:

between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the time of intake/selection
-
out of school
-
a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee status has been conferred
-
legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
-
not eligible for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits; and
-
in need of assistance to overcome employment barriers.
What are we looking for?
Is Talon for everyone?
Yes and No. Talon is an employment program with a twist. Talon works together with each individual to either build a strong foundation to enter the job market or to assist in making connections to other community resources.
Anything Else?
Talon is a full time program which offers the participant a wage during their time in the project.
